Sunday Praise and Worship: Psalm 29 #theLordreignsforever

SundayPraiseAndWorship-50--AMP

I’ve been doing a personal study of the Psalms and read this one the other day. Psalm 29 is filled with David’s appropriately magnificent praise to our awesome Lord. He is Holy, powerful and majestic, ruling the universe with glory and strength. The Lord—the great I AM—reigns as King forever!

Psalm 29

A psalm of David.

Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings;
    honor the Lord for his glory and strength.
Honor the Lord for the glory of his name.
    Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea.
    The God of glory thunders.
    The Lord thunders over the mighty sea.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
    the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord splits the mighty cedars;
    the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon’s mountains skip like a calf;
    he makes Mount Hermon leap like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord strikes
    with bolts of lightning.
The voice of the Lord makes the barren wilderness quake;
    the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord twists mighty oaks
    and strips the forests bare.
In his Temple everyone shouts, “Glory!”

10 The Lord rules over the floodwaters.
    The Lord reigns as king forever.
11 The Lord gives his people strength.
    The Lord blesses them with peace.

Sunday Praise and Worship: The Heart of Worship

SundayPraiseAndWorship-50--AMP

Our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ has many names and titles. Here are just a few:

In “The Heart of Worship” by Matt Redman, he calls Jesus the King of endless worth. How appropriate and true!

As we listen to this song, let us all worship, praise and glorify the name that is above every name (Philippians 2:9-11)!

All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And they shall glorify Your name.
10 For You are great and do wondrous deeds;
You alone are God.

11 Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
12 I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.
13 For Your lovingkindness toward me is great,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

—Psalm 86:9-13

Sunday Praise and Worship: The Way

SundayPraiseAndWorship--AMP

Beloved, the one and only God of the universe is indeed the great I AM. How do we know this? Because He told us so when he revealed this to Moses:

Then Moses said to God,
“Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them,
‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’
and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’
what shall I say to them?”

And God said to Moses,
“I AM WHO I AM.”
And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel,
‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

Moreover God said to Moses,
“Thus you shall say to the children of Israel:
‘The Lord God of your fathers,
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
has sent me to you.
This is My name forever,
and this is My memorial to all generations.’

—Exodus 3:13-15

I love the song “The Way” sung by Jeremy Camp and how it praises and glorifies the great I AM. Please join me in singing your praise and worship of God, our great I AM! (Can you tell I just can’t say that enough?)

Shine, bright
Let Your glory fill this land
Lift high, the King of Kings and great I am
Jesus, You are the way
