Sunday Praise and Worship: Let it Rise

sunday-praise-worship-amp

Today we praise and worship our Lord with the song “Let it Rise” by Big Daddy Weave. Beloved, our awesome God deserves all of our praise and glory! He alone is worthy of such praise. He is our great I AM, our All in All, and a host of other glorious and awesome names. Psalm 138 expresses this kind of praise and worship very well.

Psalm 138

¹ I will praise You with my whole heart;
before the gods I will sing praises to You.

I will worship toward Your holy temple,
and praise Your name
for Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
and made me bold with strength in my soul.

All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord,
when they hear the words of Your mouth.
Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord,
for great is the glory of the Lord.
Though the Lord is on high,
yet He regards the lowly;
but the proud He knows from afar.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
against the wrath of my enemies,
and Your right hand will save me.
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Sunday #Praise and #Worship: The Lion and the Lamb

SundayPraiseAndWorship-50--AMP

One of my favorite songs right now is “The Lion and the Lamb” by Big Daddy Weave. I can’t tell you how often it runs through my mind, and makes me feel JOYFUL and hopeful at the same time.

As you listen to this song, reflect on our only Hope of Glory. Read through Revelation 5 (below) and exult in our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, the Lion and the Lamb:

Revelation 5: The Lamb Takes the Scroll

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.

2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?”

3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.

4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.

5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;

And we shall reign on the earth.”

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,

12 saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

“Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Sunday Praise and Worship: My Story

SundayPraiseAndWorship--AMP

If you are anything like me, you are often overwhelmed by the thought “of the grace that is greater than all my sin, of when justice was served and where mercy wins.”

Grace and mercy: two of the most amazing things that Jesus Christ lavishes on us sinners, for whom He died and took upon Himself the punishment for our sins so that we can live with Him forever. And all we need to do is confess and be sorry for our sins, and believe that He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). The Word made flesh, just for us.

Beloved, do these thoughts move you to tears?

Every time I hear Big Daddy Weave sing “My Story,” I am once again amazed and humbled by so great a salvation (Hebrews 2:3).

If I should speak then let it be
Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him
